What we fit

Fitted storage only looks right if it’s installed right — scribed tight to the walls, level, with no dust-gap above and no filler-panel gaps at the sides. That’s the part we do. Where the units come from is up to you.

You choose the wardrobes, we fit them. Made-to-measure systems from a supplier, a flat-pack range from B&Q or IKEA, or supply-and-fit through us — whatever suits your budget. We fit and scribe them to the room so they read as built-in, not bolted on.

Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes taken right up to the ceiling and into the corners, hinged or sliding. Alcove and chimney-breast units in the awkward recesses where fitted storage beats anything freestanding. Built-in desks, drawers and dressing areas to suit the room.

The awkward stuff is where fitting earns its keep. Sloping loft ceilings, boxed-in stairs, bay windows and chimney breasts are exactly where a careful fit makes the difference — we scribe around them instead of leaving the gaps a rushed job would.

Family-run, so you know who’s fitting it. One of us quotes it and one of us fits it. No showroom premium, no commission-led upsell.

Every job is finished and decorated, with the offcuts and packaging cleared away, so the room’s ready to move back into rather than left for you to sort.

How your bedroom fit runs

A fitted bedroom is one of the tidier jobs we do — no water, no gas, not much mess. Here’s how it runs.

The site visit and measure. One of us comes out, measures up precisely, and talks through what you need to store and which range you’re thinking of — about an hour. If it’s made-to-measure, accurate measurements are everything, so this is the stage that matters most. You get a written, itemised quote.

Ordering. You (or we) order the units; made-to-measure ranges take a few weeks to arrive, and that wait happens before we start, so there’s no disruption at home.

Fitting — usually a few days. We protect the room and flooring, then fit and scribe each piece to the walls, floor and ceiling so it sits flush even where the room’s out of square. Doors are hung and aligned, internal storage fitted, and handles and trims added.

Finish and handover. We fill, caulk and touch up so the joinery reads as part of the house, not bolted on, then clear away every offcut and hoover through, and walk the finished room with you to sort any snags.

Because there’s nothing to dry out, you can move straight back in the evening we finish. You’ll have a date before we start.

What affects the cost of a fitted bedroom

We don’t quote prices or budget bands online, because a fitted bedroom is priced by the room and the range you choose, not by the metre of a catalogue. A single alcove cupboard and a full wall of floor-to-ceiling wardrobes across a sloped loft are very different jobs. Every quote is written and itemised after a site visit.

Size and how many units. The obvious one — a single run is a small job; a full wall plus a dressing area is a bigger one.

The range you buy. A budget flat-pack range, a mid-range made-to-measure system or a premium supplier all sit at different price points — and that’s your choice, not ours to mark up.

How awkward the space is. Square walls and a flat ceiling are quick. Sloping loft ceilings, chimney breasts, bays and out-of-square rooms take more scribing and time on site — which is exactly where a careful fit is worth having.

Doors, finish and internal fit-out. Plain doors versus sliding mirrored ones; basic hanging and shelving versus soft-close drawers, pull-out rails and lighting. All move the number — usually where the daily pleasure of using it comes from.

The only honest way to price it is to measure the room and know the range. Book a free site visit and you’ll have a fixed, itemised quote.

Frequently asked questions

We fit them — we’re fitters, not a furniture workshop. You choose the range: made-to-measure from a supplier, a flat-pack range from B&Q or IKEA, or supply-and-fit through us. Whatever you go for, we install it scribed tight to the walls and ceiling so it looks built-in. Made-to-measure uses awkward space best; for a simple square room a good flat-pack range fitted well can do the job, and we’ll tell you honestly which suits.

That’s exactly where a careful fit earns its keep. Sloped loft ceilings, chimney breasts, boxed-in stairs and bay windows are awkward for off-the-shelf furniture but straightforward to scribe in for someone who fits them regularly — we cut and fit around the slope or the recess so you get usable storage where a standard wardrobe simply wouldn’t go. We’ll measure carefully and show you how the awkward corner becomes the most useful part of the room.

Either works. We can supply and fit, or fit a range you’ve bought — whichever suits your budget. Made-to-measure systems built to your room almost always use the space better than a standard flat-pack, but a good flat-pack range fitted properly is a sensible option too. If you’ve seen a look you like from a brand, tell us and we’ll point you to the closest fit; we’ll be honest about which route gives you the better result.

Most fitted bedrooms are just a few days on site once everything’s arrived, and it’s one of the tidier jobs we do — no water, gas or plastering, so no drying-out time and very little dust. We protect the room and flooring, work cleanly, and clear every offcut and packaging away at the end. Because there’s nothing to cure or dry, you can move straight back in the evening we finish. We’ll give you the fitting date well in advance.

For an awkward room — a chimney breast, a slope, a bay or walls that aren’t square — made-to-measure fitted properly uses every inch and looks like part of the house, where flat-pack leaves gaps and filler strips. For a simple box room, a good flat-pack range fitted well can do the job, and we’ll happily fit that too. We’ll tell you honestly which is worth it for your room rather than upselling.

Fitted bedrooms usually run on a deposit to confirm your order and start any made-to-measure units, with the balance due on completion once everything’s fitted and you’re happy. Larger jobs may have a stage payment. It’s all set out in the written quote before anything begins, so you know exactly what’s due and when, and the final payment only falls due after we’ve walked the finished room with you.
